This series best fits individuals who have been actively training for a longer period of time, have an athletic goal, or have completed the beginner level programs associated with ParamountGO. This program is broken down into 6 levels:
Level I is the foundational building block of the formidable series. Here we address volumetric control of each movement pattern by looking at movement in totality. With a combination of movement integration and sound loading progressions, we establish the base for each level to come.
Level II is where your exercise progressions begin to take shape. Not only will you experience more dynamic exercise variability, you will feel how the number of exercises can create more metabolic adaptations. The goal of this level is to build your endurance up to be ready for what the next level has in store.
Level III will provide you with the necessary strength and hypertrophy gains that you could imagine. We first address the endurance you gained from the previous level by placing your body under more load. This may sound intimidating, but just know that you dictate the loads that are prescribed. As you develop strength, it will be further challenged to produce your newfound strength on a consistent basis.
Level IV initially continues to emphasize strength and hypertrophy with a twist. After passing the initial phase of programming, this level begins to integrate in potentiation based measures. This means that in the time you have spent building up to who you are now, we are going to challenge that version of yourself with variable sets and reps. While demanding, this type of focus pairs well after the previous phase. Especially if you are building up to a sport's season or have completed all the levels up to this point.
Level V includes one of the most difficult in all of the formidable series. Tying back to the previous level, we are going to challenge variability within the sets and reps of the given exercises. There is going to be a noticeable uptick in both volume and intensity, which at this point of the series we are looking to maximize on both variables. However, you will be humbly surprised at the last phase of this level because it is built to address maintenance around all of this work you have put in. With this type of phase in mind, we will be able to slow the pace down enough going into the next phase to make sure you are ready to finish off the series strong!
Level VI, what a way to finish out the formidable series. You have worked so hard to get to this point, what better way to top it off than to challenge everything with a full potentiation approach. Potentiation means we have fully transitioned into using strength to produce efficient force. Whether this is for a plyometric based skill or strength exercise that you are attempting to increase velocity in, we are going to give your nervous system a run for its money. As you think all the way back to Level I, this will put into perspective how hard you have worked and hopefully show you the fruit of your labors to this point.
