Tactical Athlete Conditioning

Custom Programming for Tactical Athletes

by Vector Performance Physiology

If your job demands strength under load, endurance under fatigue, and clarity under pressure, this program is built for you. Tactical athletes, emergency services personnel, and selection candidates choose this training because preparation — not talent — is what gets you through when it counts.

Vector Performance Physiology delivers customised 4–8 week periodised blocks built from the same systems used to prepare operators for special forces selection and real‑world operational tasks. This isn’t general fitness. It’s targeted, evidence‑based preparation for people who must perform when others break.

Why Tactical Athletes Choose This Program

  • Purpose‑built for the job — Every block reflects the realities of tactical work: load carriage, casualty movement, obstacle negotiation, sustained output, and decision‑making under fatigue.
  • Operationally aligned — Training mirrors the physical and cognitive demands of frontline environments, not gym‑only metrics.
  • Durability & resilience — Stress inoculation, progressive overload, and structured recovery to keep you performing when the tempo rises.

What You’ll Receive

  • Individualised assessment & programming tailored to your fitness level, injury history, and operational timeline.
  • Clear performance standards with pass/fail and over‑performance targets tied to your mission.
  • Strength & power development for heavy work under fatigue.
  • Endurance & conditioning with pace, load, and terrain specificity.
  • Integrated recovery strategies covering sleep, nutrition, mobility, and regeneration.
  • Ongoing coaching & adjustments to refine technique, track progress, and maintain momentum.

Every drill, every rep, every kilometre has intent. You’ll train with purpose — and arrive stronger, smarter, and more resilient than ever.

Training Framework

  • Core foundations: Running, load carriage, work capacity.
  • Supplemental focus: Strength, aerobic/anaerobic conditioning, phase‑specific intensities.
  • Delivery: In‑person, hybrid, or remote.
  • Scalable volume: From 2 sessions/week (baseline) to 6–11 sessions/week (selection or deployment prep).

Training Phases

  • Tissue Conditioning — Build joint, tendon, and connective tissue resilience.
  • Volume Development — Increase weekly capacity with longer marches and higher reps.
  • Intensity Development — Heavier loads, tempo work, and tactical circuits for power under fatigue.
  • Extreme Endurance — Long marches, multi‑hour PT, sustained high volume.
  • Peaking & Maintenance — Sharpen standards, taper, and finalise readiness.

Recovery, Injury Mitigation & Standards

  • Built‑in recovery cycles to prevent overuse and maintain output.
  • Regular screening & corrective work to keep you operational.
  • Task‑specific performance standards for load carriage, casualty drags, hose work, timed runs, and sustained output under fatigue.

Vector Performance Physiology ensures you don’t just pass — you exceed the standard and stay ready when it matters most.

ABOUT US

I began training in Brazilian Jiu‑Jitsu and Muay Thai nearly 30 years ago, long before those sports were mainstream. Three decades on the mats—combined with my accreditation as both an Exercise Scientist and an Exercise Physiologist—give me a rare blend of lived experience and clinical expertise that most coaches simply don’t have. Layered on top of that is decades of service in Army Special Operations, where physical preparation, resilience, and performance under pressure weren’t abstract concepts—they were daily requirements. That background shaped how I understand human capability, injury prevention, and the demands of real-world operational readiness. My fitness programs integrate all of this: evidence‑based strength and conditioning, clinical load management, tactical durability, and a deep understanding of what real fitness training is. The result is training that makes athletes stronger, more resilient to injury, and better able to translate their fitness to the real world.
