Train hard. Build power. Move like an athlete — with all the tools your gym already has.
Commercial Gym Conjugate is a 12-week performance-driven strength program built for intermediate and advanced lifters training out of a standard commercial gym. Whether you’re chasing numbers, athleticism, or just want structure behind your intensity — this plan brings the conjugate system to life in a modern, accessible way.
Developed by performance coach Bird, this program blends the timeless principles of conjugate-style training with real-world practicality: rotating max effort lifts, explosive dynamic effort days, high-rep accessories, and movement-focused prep — all tailored to the tools you’ll find in any decent gym.
This isn’t a generic powerlifting plan or a random mix of machines. It’s a system. Built to help you get stronger, more athletic, and more resilient week after week.
4 highly structured sessions per week: Max Lower, Max Upper, Dynamic Lower, and Dynamic Upper
Wave-based progressions across 4 distinct 3-week phases — each building intensity, volume, and movement complexity
Intelligent warmups and pre-lift prep to open range of motion, increase joint resilience, and prime for performance
Rotating max effort lifts using variations like pin presses, Anderson squats, and block pulls
Dynamic effort work to build speed, control, and explosiveness under load
Athlete-driven accessories focused on trunk control, single-leg strength, and full-body output
Commercial gym-friendly design — all you need is barbells, machines, bands, and the space to move
This program is for lifters who are ready to train with intent — and who want to do more than just chase a pump.
Who is this program for?
Lifters with a baseline of training experience who want to train like an athlete and build real-world strength. If you’re comfortable squatting, pressing, and deadlifting with basic competence, you’ll thrive here.
Do I need specialty equipment?
Nope. This is designed for the average commercial gym — think barbells, benches, machines, cables, and some space to jump or move. Bands are helpful, but not required.
What if I’ve never done conjugate training?
That’s exactly why this program exists — to take the guesswork out. Each week and each phase is fully built, with logical progressions and clear movement intent. You’ll learn the system as you train through it.
How long are the workouts?
Each session runs 60–75 minutes depending on rest times and accessory volume. You’ll train 4 days per week, with the flexibility to add extra recovery or conditioning work as needed.
Is this just for powerlifters?
Not at all. This plan blends strength work with movement prep, plyometrics, joint integrity training, and athletic accessory work. The goal is strength that carries over — to sport, to life, to whatever you’re building.
